Ronaldo return unknown as Portuguese megastar eyes Old Trafford exit

Manchester United do not know when Cristiano Ronaldo will return to the club for pre-season training.

That’s according to a recent report from leading transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who has claimed the Portuguese megastar, who is absent due to ‘family reasons’, has not yet reported back for pre-season training.

Ronaldo’s absence from the squad is officially due to ‘family’ and ‘personal reasons’, but with intense speculation surrounding his future, fans will probably feel the two are linked.

The Red Devils’ failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League came as a huge blow to everybody associated with the club, but for Ronaldo, it appears to have been a deciding factor.

Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to leave Man United this summer.

What has Romano said about Ronaldo?

“As things stand, nobody at Manchester United knows when Cristiano Ronaldo will return to pre-season training – a remarkable situation for new manager Erik ten Hag to be put in in his first summer in charge!”  Romano wrote on his exclusive CaughtOffside SubStack.

“Of course, his great disappointment remains with the current state of the club and he really wants to leave as soon as possible.”

Understandably not keen to play in the Europa League next time out, this summer is expected to see the former Real Madrid and Juventus attacker move on in search of a new challenge.

However, regardless of their sympathy towards the Portugal international, fans won’t like hearing that any player is beginning to dictate things behind the scenes.
