After a characteristically slow start to the window, Manchester United are finally getting to work and several incomings are expected before they leave for their pre-season tour on Friday.

United jet off to Thailand in three days’ time and although there are question marks over Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence, Erik ten Hag will hope that a number of fresh faces are on the plane.

Three deals have already been advanced, with Tyrell Malacia set to complete a €17m move this week after undergoing a medical on Monday.

Christian Eriksen is believed to have accepted a three-year contract after leaving Brentford whilst United want to finalise a deal to sign Ajax star Lisandro Martinez before they leave on Friday.

Now, it has been reported that United are keen to do even more business before the month’s end as Ten Hag continues to shape the squad to his liking.

That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who add that a fee has been agreed with Barcelona over the transfer of Frenkie de Jong, Ten Hag’s prime target this summer.

Ten Hag would ideally like the bulk of this summer’s business to be done before they leave for pre-season but players signed after they leave on Friday will likely join the squad in Australia.
