Manchester United are often linked with signing players and this summer is and will be, no exception.
The Red Devils are a commercial juggernaut and consequently find their name attached to some of the sport’s biggest and best players, and one name who emerged as a candidate to sign for United this summer was RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku.
Rumoured to be admired by former interim boss Ralf Rangnick (SportBILD via Sport Witness), the 24-year-old French attacker found himself well placed to move to Old Trafford this summer.

However, despite United losing four key midfielders in Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic, it looks like the Premier League giants will not be pursuing Nkunku – at least this year, anyway.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the France international has decided to extend his contract with RB Leipzig until 2026.

Interestingly, although the Independent recently reported that the Bundesliga side would demand as much as £100m for Nkunku, the midfielder’s latest contract includes a release clause worth just half that figure.
