Leeds United among three Premier League clubs interested in Phil Jones

While there hasn’t been a lot reported in the British press about Phil Jones’ future, a Spanish newspaper claims three Premier League clubs are interested in signing the centre-back this summer.

That’s according to a recent report from Marca, who claim to know where a number of players in the Premier League are heading in the transfer market, with Jones set to have more than enough options on the table.

The clubs said to be interested in Jones include Leeds United, Fulham and Southampton.

I don’t have a preference because I think it would be good for all parties for Jones to move on in attempt at getting regular football elsewhere. Obviously, I’d opt against dirty Leeds, but Ralph Hassenhuttl’s Southampton may appeal to the defender.

In recent years, Jones has struggled with injuries and just featured in six Premier League games since the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

It’s all well and good saying these clubs are interested in Jones, but only time will tell if they make the player an offer.

Jones was closely linked with a loan move to France in January and we all know how that went.

Hopefully the upcoming year isn’t another wasted year for Jones. We’d like nothing more than to see him back playing football, but that is unlikely to happen at United.

  1. Pal. You may opt against “dirty Leeds” but they wouldn’t want a total Scum waste of space. Believe me.
