Manchester United have endured a disastrous season on the pitch and with just one game remaining of their dismal season, it’s set to be the first Premier League campaign in the club’s history.

A victory over Crystal Palace next week would put Ralf Rangnick’s side on 61 points, three fewer than their previous lowest point in 2019.

And it’s going from bad to worse for Rangnick’s men, according to reports. As per The Sun, two senior Manchester United players were involved in a ‘full-on scrap’ at the club’s Carrington training ground.

The incident is said to have taken place at the end of Thursday’s training session following an extended period of off-time granted by Ralf Rangnick after last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Brighton.

As per the report, the two players in question had to be pulled apart by their teammates and the training session was abandoned as a consequence of the incident. Some players are said to have been left ‘stunned’.

SN’s verdict…
Erik ten Hag is just weeks away from officially taking over at Manchester United and despite still seeing through his duties as Ajax manager, he will have been clued in about the incident in Manchester.

What exactly caused tensions to reach boiling point remains unclear but the Dutchman will be eager to have any issues like this sorted well before walks through the doors at Carrington.

In truth, reports of a training ground bust-up are due as they generally go hand-in-hand with disappointing seasons. Unfortunately for United, this episode sums up their season perfectly.
