Manchester United will battle Paris Saint-Germain to sign Nordi Mukiele this summer, according to a report.

Foot Mercato claims the two clubs are looking at signing the 24-year-old RB Leipzig defender at the end of the season.

On top of that, United’s interest has been backed up by German outlet Fussball Transfers. This report states that the Red Devils have put out feelers and want their interest to result in a formal offer in the near future.

Due to Ralf Rangnick’s strong connections with the Red Bull brand, you would think this will end up being a one-horse race if United are serious about Mukiele, though he could be persuaded to join PSG to be guaranteed Champions League football.

However, Rangnick was partly responsible for helping bring the France international to RB Leipzig in 2018. He could now play a big hand in bringing Mukiele to Old Trafford.

The right-back could see his current deal expire in 2023, which means Mukiele could be available for a knockdown price this summer, and it goes without saying that United need better full-backs next season.

Only time will tell if United make a formal offer for the Leipzig star.
