Atletico Madrid want Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan next season

I laughed first at this headline.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has hardly developed since his 2019 transfer to Manchester United, costing the club a staggering £50 million, and it feels like he now faces an uncertain future at the club after losing his place in the team to makeshift right-back Diogo Dalot.

According to football journalist Ekrem Konur, Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering a loan move for Wan-Bissaka, with the option to sign him permanently at the end of it should the former Crystal Palace academy graduate impress in Spain.

Konur tweeted: “Atletico Madrid would like to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka on a 1-year loan with a permanent transfer option.”

It is believed that United are open to offers for Wan-Bissaka at the end of the season after a disappointing three-year spell at the club.

Whether or not there will be enough interest to see Wan-Bissaka get a permanent move remains to be seen, but United should consider Atletico Madrid’s offer if they are planning a genuine pursuit for the full-back — only if Diego Simeone can guarantee him minutes on the pitch.

Atletico Madrid lost Kieran Trippier to Newcastle United in January, so they could take a look in the Premier League to replace the England international.

One of Wan-Bissaka or Dalot should leave this summer and I don’t think it will be the Portugal regular.
