Cristiano Ronaldo unlikely to leave Manchester United this summer

It looks like Cristiano Ronaldo will be staying at Manchester United this summer.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the Portuguese star will not be one of the players to leave Old Trafford in the coming months.

The reliable journalist said it on his podcast that he doesn’t believe Ronaldo will be leaving this summer.

He said: “My view is that one of those departures won’t be Cristiano Ronaldo. He still is on contract — I think that we will see him as part of Ten Hag’s new squad at United. I’m personally not getting strong indications that he is on his way out of United.”

Ronaldo is expected to play a role in Erik ten Hag’s Ajax side next season which will be music to the ears of many United fans.

He is finishing the current season strongly and I’m sure the Dutchman will make note of that before he moves to Manchester.

Of course, Ronaldo is under contract at United until 2023 and there is an option to extend that by a further year.

We’ll have to wait and see how he gets on next season in a different team.
