Jose Mourinho did not appreciate being asked a question about Erik ten Hag’s appointment at Manchester United.
In fairness, I’m not surprised to hear Mourinho give a ratty response to the reporter’s questions. The AS Roma manager is focused on his own job with a Europa Conference League semi-final clash against Leicester City, not United’s latest appointment which was confirmed last week.
It was a tongue-in-cheek question posed to Mourinho too, asking him whether he had any advice for the new Manchester United manager – following his dismissal in 2018.
The 59-year-old responded: “You brought up a point – it is my former club. Not my club. No, I don’t have advice.”

Again, I’m not sure what the journalist in question expected – but he certainly got a sound bite.
It was probably the last question Mourinho expected to be asked ahead of Roma’s upcoming game.
Mourinho won the League Cup and Europa League during his time in charge. On top of that, we’ve not won a trophy since and it’s been a long five years.
We will be hoping that Erik ten Hag can deliver the goods, but he needs to be given time to assemble his own squad. A lot of the current crop of players are not good enough.
