Louis Saha names surprise contender for Premier League manager of the year

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has given his verdict on who should be manager of the year.

After spending a short spell on loan at Newcastle, Saha feels Eddie Howe has done a remarkable job at St. James’ Park considering they were relegation contenders at the turn of the year.

Howe took over from Steve Bruce and has almost guaranteed Premier League survival.

“I think so, yeah. When you have competition like Guardiola, Klopp and Tuchel, it’s hard, but it shows he’s done an amazing job,” Saha said, when asked if Howe should win the manager of the year award.

It’s not very often that a manager outside the top six wins the manager of the year award, and we don’t actually expect Howe to come out on top, but it shows that his work has not gone unnoticed at Newcastle.

The Magpies will have another cash injection in the summer no doubt.
