Paul Scholes and Peter Schmiechel inducted to Premier League Hall of Fame

Manchester United legends Paul Scholes and Peter Schmeichel are the two latest inductees to the Premier League Hall of Fame.

The pair join Wayne Rooney, who became the first former United player to be nominated into this year’s Hall of Fame.

However, right now, there are 5 former United players in the Hall of Fame – including Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, David Beckham.

Former Manchester City players Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero are also some of the latest icons to be inducted into the category this time around.

Scholes and Schmeichel both enjoyed prolific careers at Manchester United and were key members of the 1998/99 Treble winning squad.

On top of that, Scholes won 11 Premier League titles with the Red Devils, while Schmeichel won 5 league winners’ medals.

The pair have a strong standing within the game, not just in Old Trafford folklore, and it doesn’t surprise us to see them both inducted to the prestigious Hall of Fame.
