Hannibal Mejbri earned lots of plaudits after showing plenty of fight in his brief cameo against Liverpool.
The young Tunisia international was brought on with six minutes of normal time remaining during the Reds’ 4-0 defeat at Anfield.
The other United players were right criticised for not showing up, nor did any of them put a boot in as Liverpool danced with the ball around the pitch.
Mejbri made an instant impression as he hit Naby Keita with a tough challenge to get himself a booking just four minutes after coming on for Anthony Elanga.
While Mejbri didn’t have the sort of influence to change the game, his tenacity deserved praise and I would like to see him in action more between now and the end of the season.
Mejbri took to Instagram after the match to say: “Always an honour to wear this shirt. Always ready to fight for this badge.”

Mejbri showed more fight last night than he did all season.
