Erik ten Hag plans to raid Ajax for £50m-rated right winger to bolster United’s attack

Erik ten Hag reportedly plans to include Ajax winger Antony in his rebuilding job at Manchester United.

The Sun believes Ten Hag will make the young Brazilian one of his first summer signings for United.

We are still waiting on an official announcement from United over Ten Hag, although it is widely accepted in the media that something will be confirmed this week.

Antony, 22, may be one of the many signings Ralf Rangnick spoke about after United’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday night. The interim boss suggested there could be up to 10 signings made in the summer transfer window.

It is understood that Ten Hag sees Antony as a ready-made fit for his new-look United, as the youngster knows the manager’s style of football inside-out.

Ten Hag is not fazed by the idea of signing former players he trusts – which was a policy that backfired for Louis van Gaal during his time at Old Trafford. That doesn’t mean he shouldn’t sign former players, but there needs to be a balance in finding the right talents to succeed in the Premier League.

Moreover, The Sun believes Ajax would not be difficult to deal with provided they get an offer in excess of £50 million.

The Dutchman signed Antony from Sao Paulo on a five-year deal in February 2020 for £13 million, but he could soon make him a star at Old Trafford if United decide he is the right winger they want next season.
