Ralf Rangnick has endorsed Paul Mitchell to the Manchester United hierarchy, with the Englishman’s future said to be up in the air at AS Monaco.
The club is on the verge of hiring Erik ten Hag as its new manager this week, with Rangnick expected to move into an advisory role at the end of the season, but United will reportedly hire a deputy football director on top of that.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported about the situation of Mitchell, claiming that his name has featured prominently in the conversations that Chelsea have held to appoint a new technical director.
On top of that, Mitchell has been linked with a move away from Monaco in recent months.
Rangnick has strong ties with the Mancunian from their days together at the Red Bull brand, but now it has been claimed that the German gave his former colleague an endorsement to United – if the club is serious about improving their structure.
The Manchester Evening News previously ran a report on Rangnick’s close relationship with Mitchell.
Can the club be trusted to make the correct decision? I won’t hold by breathe.
