(Video) Steven Gerrard names Manchester United star he’d love to have played with

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard wishes he could’ve played alongside Premier League stars Bruno Fernandes, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Virgil van Dijk.

The former Liverpool captain hung up his boots after a 19-year playing career in 2016.

Gerrard made 710 appearances for the Scousers but never won the Premier League.

In a Q&A with Manchester United legend Gary Neville for The Overlap, Gerrard was asked to name one current player in the Premier League he would’ve loved to have played with.

Gerrard couldn’t pick one and named several.

“Mo Salah. I love Bruno Fernandes – you might agree with that. I really like him,” Gerrard told Neville.

“Kevin De Bruyne for sure, 100 per cent, I think he’s one of the best in the world right now. Defensive-wise, I think Virgil [van Dijk] is out of this world.”

All of the players Gerrard selected are considered among the best in the Premier League at the moment.

Although Fernandes has underperformed this term, hopefully things pick up soon after he agreed to commit his long-term future to the club.
