Harry Maguire breaks silence on Twitter after being booed by England fans

Harry Maguire was booed by England fans during their two friendlies this week.

The fans responsible for giving Maguire a hard time were criticised by England manager Gareth Southgate, although Roy Keane thinks a story is being made out of nothing.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has defended Maguire – noting how he’s been an incredible servant to England in recent years.

Maguire played well in the 3-0 win over Ivory Coast, keeping a clean sheet to silence the booing.

The United skipper took to Twitter this afternoon to break his silence after being booed, but he didn’t seem keen to wade into a row with fans. He simply tweeted: “Enjoyable week playing for my country.”

Maguire will have plenty to prove once again when United take on Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend.

In the system England play, Maguire does not make the same number of mistakes that we see from him in a United shirt, and you must take the standard of international football into account.

There is also a lot of pressure that comes with playing for the biggest club in England.

Hopefully Maguire can put this difficult spell behind him before the new manager arrivals.
