Man United interested in Serie A striker who has already scored 23 goals this season

Manchester United are on the lookout for a new striker ahead of next season.

The Red Devils have not been shy in their desire to sign a new, younger forward with interim manager Ralf Rangnick admitting the potential signing of a striker in the summer was ‘obvious’.

Speaking to reporters last month about the prospect of United bringing in a new forward in the summer, Rangnick, as quoted by ESPN, said: “This is obvious.

“Edison’s [Cavani] contract is running out in the summer, and the club needs the best possible centre forward. This is an obvious one. I think everyone is aware of that.”

Ahead of what look sets to be another blockbuster transfer window for United, the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is former Chelsea and Roma hitman Tammy Abraham.

That’s according to a recent report from Italian outlet Il Messaggero (via CalcioNews24), who claims the Red Devils have been highly impressed with Abraham, 24, who has netted 23 goals already this season, including 15 in Italy’s top-flight.

Leading Roma’s line expertly, Abraham’s goal contributions have seen the Giallorossi continue to push for Champions League qualification.

Since joining from Chelsea last summer, Abraham has cemented himself as a key figure in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans, therefore, it goes without saying, it would be a massive surprise to see the Serie A side even consider selling their influential number nine.
