Manchester United staff struggling to press ahead with transfer plans

Manchester United have yet to appoint their new manager, with Ralf Rangnick’s duration as interim boss coming to an end at the end of the season.

In a recent column, I wrote about how there are growing concerns over United’s search for a new manager. It becomes an even bigger problem when United can’t plan ahead for next season…

According to the Telegraph, United’s search for a new manager is expected to gather pace over the next few weeks, with Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino dividing opinion among staff.

There is also mentions for Thomas Tuchel, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui — making it a five-man shortlist.

However, the report states that staff are struggling to press ahead with summer transfer plans and they’re concerned about the impact of such delays with so many key decisions on hold.

How can United make decisions, like offering players new contracts, without knowing who will be in charge next season and beyond?

It’s next to impossible and it shows that excuses are already being made for next term.

Does football director John Murtough not know what the club needs?
