Daniel James suggests Leeds are confident ahead of Manchester United clash

Daniel James is enjoying more playing time since his summer move to Leeds United and he comes up against his former club on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa, who some pundits will tell you is the best thing since sliced pan (?), is under immense pressure to get a result because Leeds are just six points above the drop zone ahead of three extremely difficult fixtures.

They have had injury problems but that has not seen the Argentine coach alter his tactics, in such a way to avoid a relegation scrap. And, as a result of that, James has stepped in most weeks to replace Patrick Bamford.

The former United forward has four goals to his name this season and he will be hoping Leeds can provide some upsets ahead of games against not only the Reds, but Liverpool and fellow top-four hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur.

They go into that run of games on the back of a 3-0 defeat at Everton.

“We are looking forward to them,” James told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“We have got obviously three games next week as the Liverpool game has been put in between.

“It’s the games we play for, we have maybe put a little bit more pressure on from not getting a result from this game [Everton] but we are all confident going into it.”

Hopefully James doesn’t strike gold against us on Sunday, like he did in their 3-3 draw against Aston Villa, scoring a brace against Steven Gerrard’s side.

We will be hoping James shows why he wasn’t good enough to be a starter at United on Sunday.
