James Garner has been catching the eye at Nottingham Forest this season and he’s just been named in the Championship team of the week.
On the back of an impressive performance against Leicester City in the FA Cup, the Manchester United midfielder stood out last night as Steve Cooper’s side recorded a 2-0 away win at promotion-pushing Blackburn Rovers.
Garner opened the scoring for the East Midlands club, converting a through ball from Keinan Davis to send the ball past Rovers’ keeper Thomas Kaminski. Brennan Johnson scored a late penalty to make it four wins in five for Forest, who are also pushing for promotion this season.
The United academy graduate was compared to David Beckham after his recent performances.

As a result of his brilliant performance against Rovers, Garner has been named in the Sky Bet Championship team of the week, as seen in the image above.
That means he was among the top 11 star players in the Championship over the past game week.
With more impressive displays he will only receive more plaudits.
