‘Not the result we wanted’ – Paul Pogba reacts to Burnley draw after first PL goal in over a year

Paul Pogba and his team-mates left Turf Moor last night feeling bitterly disappointed.

Another game where the team created enough chances to win multiple matches, like Boro on Friday night, only for United to come away with an underwhelming result.

The two games in question saw the return of Paul Pogba, who made his first Premier League appearance since October last night — on that awful day Liverpool beat us 5-0 at Old Trafford.

Pogba also scored his first Premier League goal in over a year last night.

It comes as no surprise that we look more threatening in attack with him back available, though it beggars belief how wasteful we have been in front of goal. And, Mike Dean certainly didn’t help matters by overruling two United goals.

The Frenchman, who has been linked with a move away from United in the summer, took to Twitter after the match to share his thoughts.

Pogba said: “Not the result we wanted, but happy to be back on the scoresheet again.”

Let’s hope Pogba can keep scoring goals and creating chances because surely, over a matter of time, the team will start taking their opportunities in front of goal.

  1. He disallowed the 2 attempted goals because as VAR proved they weren’t goals. Don’t blame the referee for your teams arrogance and defiencies.
