Manchester United loanee set to join Flamengo

Manchester United have agreed to sell on loan midfielder Andreas Pereira for a reported fee of €14m to Flamengo.

Pereira, 26, has been enjoying his football with the Brazilian outfit, and nobody expected to see him return to United as that would only mean less game time for the player.

According to UOL Sport, the club have agreed to purchase 75% of the player’s economic rights, also paying the €14m fee to extend his stay with Flamengo beyond the summer.

Pereira is set to agree a contract until 2026 with the Brazilian club, and he will hope it helps put him back on the international stage.

Although a lot of Pereira’s time at United was spent on loan, the midfielder still managed to make 75 appearances after graduating from the academy.

I don’t think anyone will be surprised by the news because Pereira was never going to get back into the United team. However, he did make 40 appearances during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first season in charge.

We wish Pereira the best at Flamengo after narrowly missing out on the title this season.
