Reports that the Mason Greenwood’s team-mates are appalled by leak audio and images online that led to his arrest on Sunday come as no surprise… The striker was released on bail this morning but Manchester United have suspended the academy graduate until further notice.

We can’t comment too much on an ongoing investigation, so this will feel like an elephant in the room for some time, but it is understood that a meeting took place between members of the club hierarchy on Monday morning.

The sole purpose of that meeting wasn’t transfer deadline day. Ralf Rangnick and John Murtough’s conversation had a more important focus with the club still reeling from the news of Greenwood’s arrest.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who also claim player and staff are said to be ‘shocked and appalled’ by the evidence leaked online over the weekend.

Nike have suspended their sponsorship with Greenwood and he has been dropped by the EA Sports game FIFA 22.

“Everyone is very shaken up,” one source told the MailOnline. “This is very different to the normal things they have to deal with.”

I can only echo those sentiments as editor of Stretty News.

United take on Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night. We’ll be hoping to spend the weekend talking about a win and looking forward to the next round!

  1. They shouldn’t be doubting Greenwood just because of a claim. He was innocent, why else did they release him, but instead most of the team are already hating on him.
