China among Manchester United’s favourite destinations for pre-season tour

Richard Arnold has his work cut out for him. He won’t want to be making the same headlines Ed Woodward made over his reign, and one thing he must do is let the football decisions to the football people at the club.

That is why it made sense for Manchester United to make a plan with interim manager Ralf Rangnick to move upstairs at the end of the season. He will work in a consultancy role — presumably alongside John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher.

But we are not saying Arnold has no decisions to make.

The new chief executive will be tasked with finding United a new kit sponsorship deal this month after Aon decided not to renew their £22.5m per year deal.

The Times also report that United are considering embarking on their first pre-season tour since 2019 with China being among the favourite destinations if travel restrictions are not in place.

It makes sense for United to return to China in the coming years after opening “fan centres” throughout the country in 2020. Granted the pandemic doesn’t continue to get in the way of things, our fans in China could be gifted another chance to see their favourite players in actions.

Where would you like to see United visit this summer?
