A deadline day move for Jesse Lingard could be off the cards.
Going to bed last night, I thought about today’s potential exists and didn’t think United would let them all leave. The attacking department is looking a bit thin after Anthony Martial’s loan move to Sevilla and Thursday’s arrest.
Donny van de Beek was always set to move on loan and I think we’ll hear more about that later today, but we learned Phil Jones won’t be joining Bordeaux for the next six-months.
That leaves us with Lingard, who has been making headlines due to the fact his brother feels the need to fight his corner on social media, as per Manchester Evening News, but BBC Sport claim the England international’s move to Newcastle United could be off.
Simon Stone writes: “Newcastle wanted the player, Lingard wants to go – on loan until the end of the season – and Manchester United want a hefty payment if they sanction the deal and the Magpies stay up.”
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Ralf Rangnick has given his blessing to Lingard to leave on loan.
🚨 EXCL: Ralf Rangnick has again given Jesse Lingard blessing to leave Man Utd on loan – now all down to #MUFC board. This morning Newcastle improved offer & West Ham returned with bid on better terms than last year @TheAthleticUK #DeadlineDay #NUFC #WHUFC https://t.co/qzZQp9pok8

I can see Lingard playing more games at United than he did during the first half of the season but only time will tell.
