Man United looking to loan attacker out but have one condition

Even though there are just five days left in this January’s transfer window, Manchester United remain hopeful they can find a loan move for wide-attacker Amad.

That’s according to a recent report from Manchester Evening News, who claims the young forward could spend the second half of this season away from Old Trafford so long as a team can offer the attacker valuable first-team minutes.

Similarly to midfielder Donny van de Beek, Amad, 19, is also a candidate to move away in order to rack up some first-team minutes.

Despite agreeing to join the Red Devils 18-months ago, following a move from Serie A side Atalanta, Amad has made just nine senior competitive appearances.

Manchester United’s Amad could leave on loan this month.

Although the Ivorian attacker was previously linked with a move to Wayne Rooney’s Derby County, it is understood that due to the club’s precarious financial position, a move has now been shelved. But other Championship clubs, as well as teams in Italy, have retained interest.

Following Anthony Martial’s recent loan move to Sevilla and Jesse Lingard’s proposed move to Newcastle United, it is fair to say that interim manager Ralf Rangnick is aiming to trim the Red Devils’ squad down.

One player who looks certain to remain with the club’s first team is Swedish winger Anthony Elanga, who is clearly highly rated by Rangnick.

Speaking following United’s 3-1 win over Brentford, the German boss, as quoted by Mirror, said: “Anthony Elanga followed up on the performance he showed at Villa Park. He was outstanding in the second half, put in a lot of work against the ball and then scoring the first goal.

“But I am happy for all our young players tonight – three young English goalscorers.”

With Elanga on the verge of becoming a first-team regular, Amad’s standing in the squad will only worsen, therefore, a temporary move away to prove his top-flight worth would be the best outcome for all parties.
