Crystal Palace is confident they will be able to sign midfielder Donny van de Beek from Manchester United before the January transfer window’s deadline.
That’s according to a recent report from TalkSPORT, who claims the Eagles feel they have a ‘strong chance’ of landing the Netherlands international.
In an attempt to rack up valuable first-team minutes, van de Beek, 24, is understood to be looking for a way out of Old Trafford this month.

Despite arriving in Manchester 18-months ago, following a transfer from Ajax, van de Beek has struggled to break into both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick’s first-team plans.
Having started in just four Premier League matches since the beginning of last season, the 24-year-old’s career has undoubtedly been left to stagnate. That could all be set to change if Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace can sign him on a shock loan deal until the end of the season though.
Discussing his philosophy, which is centred around playing possession-based football to Sky Sports recently, the Frenchman said: “I knew it was a nice goal [Conor Gallagher’s vs. Brighton] in terms of the build-up from the back, but I didn’t realise in the moment that every player had touched the ball because I was too into the game.
“It was good to see it back, because it shows the way we want to play.”
Given Vieira’s desire for his side to become a more technical outfit, it is understandable why the club has turned its attention to van de Beek.
Widely regarded as one of Europe’s most well-rounded and versatile midfielders, the former Ajax star certainly has a lot to offer when given the chance to shine.
