Manchester United will be looking to move back into the top four when they take on West Ham in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds go into the game sitting two points behind the Hammers, who currently sit in fourth place knowing a victory over West Ham would put United back above David Moyes men and into the top four.

Duo Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani both remain doubtful, however, Marcus Rashford could be recalled to the starting eleven after scoring against Brentford midweek.

Sitting just outside the top four places and with the knockout rounds of the European Cup and FA Cup to come there are many reasons to be optimistic for Reds fans in 2022. The performances may have been below par and if we are honest, its very disappointing to see United so far adrift of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. This must not take away from the fact United still have a real opportunity to make this season a successful one for the club and in facing West Ham on Saturday it gives the Reds a great chance to climb back into the top four positions.

West Ham have enjoyed a great season under David Moyes and find themselves above United in fourth place. The Hammers have looked the real deal this season and have already beaten the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea and for United to beat the Hammers they will undoubtedly have to be at their very best.

Going forward with Michael Antonio and the likes, the Hammers are a real threat but defensively they are not quite so strong and it’s that defence United will have to exploit come Saturday. Cristiano Ronaldo in particular will be rearing to go on Saturday and if he Bruno Fernandes and co all turn up and play to their potential like we know they can then United certainly have enough firepower to cause the hammers backline havoc and take all three points.

Saturday’s game against West Ham in many ways could be crucial in the Reds battle to finish inside the top four this season.

Prediction: Manchester United 3-1 West Ham
