We have reached the midway point of the January transfer window and things are getting interesting.
Manchester United have reportedly began talks with RB Leipzig to sign Amadou Haidara, but negotiations are at a preliminary stage.
Other than that, it has been very quiet for Manchester United. It felt like we would see a few players leave this month but there has not been a lot of outgoings either.
But United’s football director John Murtough has reportedly named the club’s top transfer target ahead of the summer.
According to The Athletic (£), Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham is the club’s no.1 pick to bolster United’s midfield.
Signing a player like Bellingham mid-season would be next to impossible, though.
Ideally, our business this month will involve shifting a few players out the door and signing a midfield addition – to start rebuilding the core of our team, which has been lacking for years.
The quest to sign Bellingham won’t be easy to get over the line in the summer, with all of the top clubs likely to be joining the race for his signature, but this time United will be able to offer him first-team football.
Not like when he snubbed us to join Dortmund.
