It now sounds like there could be some incoming transfer activity at Manchester United this month.
We’ve long expected for January to be a month of outgoings and while that remains the case, United could make a winter move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
According to German football journalist, Patrick Berger, there has been ‘good’ talks between Ralf Rangnick, Matt Judge and agents. United are now said to be discussing a winter transfer with the Bundesliga club, who are willing to sell for €6-7m.
ManUnited are def interested in Denis Zakaria. There have been good talks with Rangnick, Judge & player agents. #MUFC discussing about winter transfer. Gladbach would let Zak go for €6-7m. Open race as #BVB, Juve & Liverpool interested too. No bid of any club so far. 🔴 @SPORT1

The reason Zakaria is going so cheap is his contract expires in the summer.

Reports have linked multiple clubs with a free transfer in six months’ time, but United could seal an opportunity to get a deal done before any competitors join the race for the Switzerland international’s signature.
We desperately need a defensive midfielder and fans will be disappointed if the club fails to land one, even on the cheap, this month.
