Manchester United consider summer move for Brighton star Yves Bissouma

Although Yves Bissouma is currently away on international duty, representing Mali at the African Cup of Nations, the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder is at the centre of a transfer storm.

Reports have long linked Aston Villa and Liverpool with moves for the 25-year-old midfielder, but there is no reason why United shouldn’t be looking at him too.

According to the Telegraph, it would potentially take £40 million to prize Bissouma away from the Falmer Stadium, with Manchester United being one of the Premier League clubs considering a move in the summer.

It is noted that Villa could try strike a deal this month, with respected reporter Sam Wallaces stressing it is not impossible, but United could get him cheaper in the summer since he currently has 18 months left on his current deal.

Getting a deal done in January won’t be easy, with Bissouma away at the AFCON currently.

The midfielder could be what United are crying out for the middle of the park, where there is a weakness as the team lacks a ball-winner who could give the necessary support to attack players such as Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo.
