(Photo) Diogo Dalot shows off nasty ankle injury from win over Aston Villa

Diogo Dalot sustained a nasty injury in Manchester United’s narrow FA Cup win against Aston Villa — and continued to play on.

The right-back went down just past the half-hour mark in the 1-0 win and it looked like Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be brought on to replace him.

However, Dalot soldiered on after receiving treatment by United’s medical staff, and he’s now showing off the nasty gash on Twitter.

You can tell by the pictures that the medics had to quickly stitch it back together at full-time.

Dalot shared a tongue-in-cheek message on Twitter, writing: “Thank you for the messages. It’s all good now with the help of the Doctor.

“Onto the next one! Good image for those who like anatomy.”

Warrior stuff from Dalot.

Neither full-back played particularly well against Villa (Luke Shaw on the left) but from speaking to most fans about the right-back situation, it sounds like there is more faith in Dalot than ever before.

Presumably because Wan-Bissaka is having a poor season.
