Amad Diallo loan move to Birmingham City collapses

While Amad Diallo looks destined to move away from Manchester United on loan for the remainder of the season, the Ivorian winger won’t be joining Championship side Birmingham City despite recent speculation.

Amad has found it difficult to push his way into the first team at United since joining from Atalanta, making only three substitute appearances for the club.

The reason United signed him was down to Amad being touted as one of the most exciting and promising wingers in the world football, though he won’t get regular game time unless he develops his game and he’s got stiff competition with fellow youngster Mason Greenwood edging closer to the starting line-up.

A lack of game time has predictably affected Amad’s international status after being left out of the Ivory Coast squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, which kicked off this weekend.

The winger is understandably looking for a chance to play regularly, but Fabrizio Romano’s update on the situation has bad news for Birmingham fans, as they won’t be seeing the winger rock up at St. Andrew’s anytime soon.

Romano tweeted: “Amad Diallo update: Manchester United have no full agreement with Birmingham City after further contacts — loan deal now expected to collapse.

“Amad will 100% leave on loan. Four proposals on the table, Feyenoord want him since August but player priority is for UK clubs.”

We already know that Amad missed out on a chance to join Feyenoord in the summer due to injury, as per the Daily Mail, but it seems like the club now want to take a different direction with the winger.

To send him to another club in the UK.
