(Video) Reporter compares Manchester United’s transfer strategy to a toddler

Manchester Evening News journalist Rich Fay hit the nail on the head when he said “United are just like a Toddler” during a recent podcast recording.

There has been a lot written about United in the past week – from Richard Arnold becoming CEO, Ed Woodward stepping down as executive vice-chairman and constant speculation over a crisis in the dressing room.

Ralf Rangnick has addressed the claims about unrest in the dressing room but there is only so much he can do as interim manager for the next six months. He explained how difficult it is to keep everyone happy when the squad is so big, and that is something United need to think about moving forward.

Fay was speaking to Samuel Luckhurst and Steven Railston when he described United as a toddler for wanting toys they don’t play with.

We have players like Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard who are not getting a look in this season and both will be thinking about the World Cup later this year.

United should look to free up funds in the wage department, too.

That would really help the next manager start the squad build he wants at Old Trafford.
