Gary Neville gives verdict after Wolves beat United at Old Trafford

It was another drab performance as Manchester United got the result we deserved at Old Trafford today. It was Wolves’ first league win at Old Trafford since 1980.

The Reds were atrocious and could hardly string three passes together in the first-half. We saw better moments in the second half but it came to nothing, as Bruno Fernandes hit the post just moments after coming off the bench.

Adama Traore came on which gave Luke Shaw something different to contain.

The left-back was already on a yellow card which made matters worse and it was the Spanish winger who assisted the goal.

Joao Moutinho scored the game’s only goal — his second at Old Trafford (more than he’s scored at Molineux) – to give Wolves a huge boost in the Premier League. Bruno Lage’s side have struggled for goals this season but they created enough chances at Old Trafford to win five matches…

Anyhow, Gary Neville was not impressed as Ralf Rangnick suffered his first defeat as United manager.

The former United captain tweeted just minutes before the final whistle, writing: “It’s not good. It really isn’t!”

What a terrible start to 2022!
