David De Gea wins Man United Player of the Month for December

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has won back-to-back Player of the Month awards.

The news that the Spaniard has been crowned his side’s best player for December 2021 was confirmed on the club’s official website.

De Gea, 31, has been in excellent form throughout the first half of this season, keeping five clean sheets along the way.

Undoubtedly the Red Devils’ most impressive player, De Gea’s latest Player of the Month triumph now sees him claim two out of the first five awards on offer this season.

Mason Greenwood won August’s award with striker Cristiano Ronaldo winning September and October’s before De Gea swept up November and now December’s.

Looking to continue his emphatic form, De Gea is expected to line up for manager Ralf Rangnick on Monday evening for the Red Devils’ next domestic tie against Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Should De Gea and his teammates come away from Monday’s game at Old Trafford with all three points they will improve on their seventh-place position by moving up to fifth level on points with West Ham United.

The game between United and Wolves is scheduled to kick off at 5.30 p.m (UK time) and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
