Dean Henderson prepared to leave Manchester United

Manchester United be about to lose a hugely promising goalkeeper if Dean Henderson leaves for more football.

You can’t blame him. Henderson showed during his two-year spell at Sheffield United that he could easily become a safe first choice at another club, so there was always going to be a time when a difficult decision had to be made.

Henderson has made it crystal clear in the past that he wants to be number one at Manchester United, as per the Daily Mail, but unfortunately for him David de Gea is back showing some of his best form this season.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick is unlikely to change goalkeepers and Ajax have already distanced themselves from signing Henderson in January.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Henderson’s future with the keeper now prepared to leave United.

Romano tweeted: “Dean Henderson’s always been respectful and professional but he’s now prepared to leave Manchester United. His priority is to play. Whether it will happen in January or summer, it will depend on the offers.”

I would like nothing more than Henderson to go out on loan and come back to Old Trafford — but for what? To sit on the bench again next season?

It may be time to cash in on Henderson because goalkeepers like him shouldn’t come cheap.
