Amad Diallo sparking interest ahead of potential loan in January

Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo could be headed on loan in January.

The 19-year-old came close to joining Feyenoord in the summer but that was ruled out after an unfortunate injury setback in training.

It was then decided that the Ivorian would stay at Old Trafford.

For what reason, you may ask, with Amad not playing a single minute of Premier League football this season.

At least he got a start in Ralf Rangnick’s side against Young Boys on Wednesday.

It’s clear that going out on loan and playing regular football would do Amad the world of good because he has not played enough senior football since signing for United in a £37m deal from Atalanta last January.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: “Many clubs have already approached Man United to negotiate for Amad Diallo loan in January. Feyenoord want him since last summer.”

Romano adds that Newcastle are seriously interested in Jesse Lingard.

The Sun has cited claims that Atalanta want Amad back on loan, while Crystal Palace are also said to be keen to grant the youngster some Premier League experience.

It is crucial that Amad plays week in week out in order to develop but a loan move wouldn’t make sense unless he’s guaranteed that.

I’m not sure Patrick Vieira can promise that at Selhurst Park.
