(Video) Ralph Hasenhuttl talks about working with Ralf Rangnick

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttle told reporters about his previous working relationship with Manchester United’s new interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

United have hired one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football, but this will be his biggest challenge yet, with Rangnick set to move into a consultancy role at the end of the season.

It goes without saying that Manchester United is the biggest club he’s worked at – the biggest in the world.

We already know about how Rangnick influenced the careers of coaches like Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel, but he had a similar impact on Hasenhuttle too.

Hasenhuttl and Rangnick worked closely at RB Leipzig for two years and both were crucial in the development that saw the club become a regular Champions League outfit.

Now working at Southampton, and doing a good job at that, he’s revealed how Rangnick’s big dream was to manage in the Premier League which he will do for the next six months.

He said: “His big dream was to come to the Premier League.”

He also said a text message of ‘congratulations’ has been sent over the weekend.

Southampton play entertaining football and like to press like teams Rangnick has coached down the years. It shouldn’t surprise you that we think their manager is among the best in the league either.
