Exclusive: No concerns over star’s Man Utd future despite impending Rangnick arrival

There are no concerns over Luke Shaw’s future despite Ralf Rangnick’s imminent arrival at Manchester United. The 63-year-old is poised to join the club on an interim basis following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal last week.

The German coach, dubbed as the ‘Godfather of gegenpressen’, has been critical of Shaw in the past but Stretty News understands that there are no concerns over the defender’s future at Manchester United.

Shaw, 26, has 18-months remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford and talks over a new contract remain on the agenda, despite the player struggling with form this season.

Although the clock is running down on his contract at the club, sources close to the player have confirmed that any talk of an exit in the near future is wide of the mark.

Shaw, who has been on the periphery for much of his seven-year stay at United, enjoyed a stellar campaign under Solskjaer last season and was named in the PFA Team of the Year.

The former Southampton star extended that form into last summer’s European Championship but has struggled to replicate that form this season.

Nevertheless though, regardless of the managerial changes set to take place at the Red Devils, Shaw and those close to him remain firmly committed to the club he has been with since 2014.
