Donny van de Beek was expected to start Saturday’s game against Watford but to the surprise of many supporters, he was once again named on the bench as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fought to keep his job.
Nevertheless, the 24-year-old was introduced in the second half as United chased the game. He looked like a man with a point to prove and quite ironically, he went on to score the last goal of Solskjaer’s reign.

A managerial change is now imminent but it remains to be seen whether Van de Beek’s plans to leave the club in January are still intact.
The Netherlands international remains on the periphery at the Old Trafford club but he will be hoping for a new lease of life under a new manager.
