(Video) “We have to win” – Solskjaer insists Man Utd must seal three points against Watford

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has outlined why Manchester United must claim three points against Watford this afternoon as the Norwegian attempts to halt his side’s dramatic turn of form.

Solskjaer guided United to four wins out of their opening five Premier League games but since that 2-1 win over West Ham in September, only one win has been registered.

The two heavy defeats to rivals Liverpool and Manchester City were particularly hurtful but the Reds have an opportunity to set the record straight against Watford.

“You know, every time we play at Man United, we have that external pressure but also internal pressure that we need to win. Of course, to have a better position in the league, we have to win,” Solskjaer said ahead of the game, as seen above.

Clearly, the importance of this game hasn’t been lost on the Manchester United manager. Three points are absolutely crucial and any less than that would pile the pressure even more on the under-fire boss.

Make no mistake about it, Solskjaer is fighting to keep his job at the club and the Old Trafford hierarchy will be desperate for their man to turn things around sooner rather than later, with a victory at Watford for starters.

Solskjaer decided to revert to a four-at-the-back formation against Claudio Ranieri’s side, with Jadon Sancho offered the chance to force a breakthrough.

A big talking point was that Donny van de Beek remains on the sidelines – the 24-year-old reportedly impressed in training this week but was overlooked once again by Solskjaer.
