(Video) ‘Devastating for the players’ – Gary Neville hits out at United for tailoring player’s social media accounts

If you are like us, you will be fed up of seeing apologies on social media from Manchester United players after bad results.

Some of these professional footballers have PR teams managing their social media accounts and it can be tricky to know what is genuine and what is gobbledygook.

Moreover, a video has done the rounds on Twitter with Manchester United’s CEO of Media Phil Lynch. He admits that the club tailor the player’s social media strategy.

This episode of the Stream Time podcast gave us a worrying insight into how they operate the players’ social media accounts.

Gary Neville wasn’t too happy about seeing the video of Lynch, a senior club employee, saying: “Devastating for the players this video! A senior club employee stating publicly that the club and players social media teams are attempting to control their own fans is social engineering not comms advice. All the work Rashford and others have done is diminished by this video!”

Drop the excuses, lads. They are pitiful and hardly mean anything – football fans can see through that nonsense, which shows how completely out of touch these people are at the club.

It’s pathetic that the Glazers claim to be working on communications with the fans, despite being behind a plot to fill us all with crap on a weekly basis because they know results are bad.
