Manchester United have a chance to end their winless run in the Premier League when they welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford later on Sunday. The Reds haven’t won in the league since the dramatic 2-1 win over West Ham in September, with games against Aston Villa, Everton, and Leicester all ending without victory.

Manchester United’s midfield
Liverpool will make the trip to Old Trafford with their three midfielders and United struggled with their high press in last season’s defeat at Old Trafford. Scott McTominay and Fred were both isolated for the entirety of the game, which culminated in a comfortable win for the visitors.
Fred has been flagged as an early doubt for the game by Solskjaer and should he miss the game, United’s midfield structure will be vital.
Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho?
Sancho has endured a difficult start to life in Manchester but after a string of encouraging performances, he could be trusted to play against Liverpool.
His composure with the ball and ability to receive possession with his back to the goal could be pivotal as United attempt to surpass Liverpool’s press.

There is also an argument for Rashford to play – the 23-year-old has scored two goals in two games since he returned from a long-term injury and his efficient diagonal runs are a deadly weapon against the bigger sides.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s poor record vs. Liverpool
The 36-year-old superstar is the best goalscorer in football history but he has struggled to find the net against United’s bitter rivals at times.
Ronaldo has faced Liverpool eight times wearing the red of United but found the net just twice, his last two appearances against the Merseyside club before completing his move to Real Madrid in 2009.
He has scored six goals in eight games this season and extension to that impressive record is paramount to United’s chances this evening.
