Bruno Fernandes could be a doubt for Sunday’s clash against Liverpool.
According to The Sun, the Manchester United playmaker suffered a knock in the late win over Atalanta on Wednesday night.
The report in question adds that Fernandes went into Carrington for warm down training on Thursday but by the afternoon he was limping heavily.
That is not a good sign before the Scousers come to Old Trafford, but, even with Fernandes in the team, we’ve played abysmally this term. Still, I think every United fan will agree when I say we are better with him than without.
Obviously, a large part of me wants this report to be rubbish. We’ve seen that before ahead of big games and it’s the last thing any team needs before facing their fiercest rivals.
United will also be trying to get their domestic season back on track.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team sit five points adrift of Chelsea in the Premier League and it feels too early to have a bridge to close.
Will Bruno Fernandes pass a late fitness test ahead of kick-off?
If Fernandes has shown a reaction after the Atalanta win, Solskjaer will leave it down to a late fitness test.
All managers do that for their best players and he would do the same with Raphael Varane if there was any chance of having him back for the big game.
