As far as I can see, there is no denying that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest footballers of all-time.
And for at least the last decade now we have seen the Ballon D’Or tossed between just two players – Ronaldo and, of course, Lionel Messi. I hate debating who is better because we’re all extremely lucky to have witnessed both – plus you can have an argument for either player.
However, Ronaldo has won the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, four Champions League titles, and he is the top goalscorer in international football history. He has also won the European Championship and Nations League with Portugal on top of five Ballon D’Ors.
But there is still one man who does not believe that Ronaldo is one of the best.
That would be former Real Madrid player Antonio Cassano, who has suggested that the current Manchester United star is not even in the top five best players of all-time.
“Is Cristiano Ronaldo the best in the history of football? He is not even in the top five,” Cassano said, as quoted by The Mirror.
“For me, [Lionel] Messi, Pelle, [Diego] Maradona, [Johan] Cruyff and Ronaldo [the Brazilian one] are on another level.”
Excuse me while I take a minute to catch my breathe.
It is ridiculous that we still have people writing off Ronaldo after everything he’s done in the game.
