West Ham’s Declan Rice set for summer transfer

West Ham obviously want to keep hold of England midfielder Declan Rice but it won’t be easy if recent reports are to be believed.

The Athletic claim Rice, 22, has high ambitions and wants to play in the Champions League, which is something he is unlikely to achieve as a West Ham player.

There were suggestions last summer that West Ham had priced Rice out of a move — with links to Chelsea, Manchester United and Man City.

Rice remained a West Ham player — sticking around so he can lead them into the Europa League football to ensure he finally gets a taste of European football.

Roshane Thomas, who covers the Hammers for The Athletic, answered a fans’ question on whether or not Rice will remain at the club beyond next summer’s transfer window, writing: “Realistically, this is likely to be Declan Rice’s last season with West Ham.”

The problem Rice faces is he has three years left on his contract and that gives West Ham more chances to price him out of a move – like we seen happen Harry Kane at Tottenham.

Let us know in the comment section if you think Rice is the right midfielder for United?
