Jurgen Klopp fumes over midfielder’s injury ahead of LFC games vs Atletico Madrid and Manchester United

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been talking to the press ahead of their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid, and the German hit out ay the FA after one of their players picked up an injury playing for England U21s.

Klopp isn’t happy about midfielder Curtis Jones returning from International duty injured — bless his cotton socks, we’ve had Raphael Varane ruled out after playing in a poxy Nations League final.

Every team must deal with injuries whether they come domestically or while on international duty. It’s a blow but Klopp appears to be throwing his toys out of the pram (again)!

Talking about the England U21 set up after their 1-0 win over Andorra, Klopp told reporters (via James Pearce): “When we talk about federations, Curtis Jones came back from England U-21s injured. Great! It’s hard to get in touch with them. They played Andorra, really important he played there…”

Liverpool blog Anfield Watch report that Jones’ injury is not all that serious, with the youngster training with his teammates this afternoon.

There has been claims that Jones won’t travel to Madrid with the rest of Klopp’s squad, with plans for him to stay in Liverpool for prepare for the big game against United.

If he is to miss the game against United this weekend, Liverpool will be left with four fit midfielders — Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Noby Keita and Fabinho — so Klopp is simply making a big deal out of nothing.
