Barcelona are having a difficult time on and off the pitch.

All you need to do is take a look at who they are being linked to in the transfer market.

One reported target is Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic, as per the Daily Star, yet he doesn’t have the legs to feature for the Reds every week.

The Serbia international has not been first choice at OId Trafford for over 2 years, and some would even question his value as a squad player.

There is no doubting that Matic 5-6 years ago would have been the perfect player for United – but we signed him from Chelsea past his best before date. He was world-class at Chelsea but it would come as a major surprise if Barcelona go for him in January or beyond.

Barcelona’s financial issues mean they would be looking for cut-price deals anyway, and they would not be looking at Matic if they could afford better players.

A time of realisation at Camp Nou.
