Real Madrid’s pursuit of Pogba could see Los Blancos emulate Alaba transfer

Real Madrid has been admirers of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba for many years now. Understood to have first caught their attention while at Juventus, Pogba, although ending up back with the Red Devils, could finally secure a stunning move to Los Blancos once his deal at Old Trafford ends, at the end of the season.

That’s according to a recent report from ABC, who claims the midfielder’s super-agent Mino Raiola is pushing for his star client to make the switch to La Liga.

Given the reported finances on offer, it comes as no surprise that Raiola would rather see Pogba make the move than commit his long-term future to the Red Devils.

It has been claimed that although Real Madrid cannot offer the French World Cup winner the same wages as his current employers, they will try to tempt the midfielder by paying him a transfer bonus – something the club also did in order to win the race to sign former Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

United are understood to have put a contract renewal offer forward which includes a whopping £400,000-per week (L’Equipe) – however, while Real Madrid can offer ‘just’ £337,000-per week, they are open to offering the player, as well as Raiola, an eye-watering £25m signing bonus.

Although Pogba’s contract situation at United, which is set to expire in less than 12-months time, has been a subject of much debate for many seasons, a recent report from MEN claimed the Red Devils are not worried about the ongoing speculation.

A club source is understood to have told the outlet that the Premier League giants have become ‘accustomed to being at the centre of transfer talk and aren’t unduly concerned at the prospect’.
